This test is designed to test components to an accelerated weathering. 96 hours in our salt spray cabinets is like 6 months at a seaside resort. The test is usually carried out with 5% brine (salt water) at 35 degrees Celsius. However we do carry out other tests too, such as copper accelerated salt spray tests (CASS). These tests are usually for

• Accelerated tests on paints and coatings
• Checks on protection from oils and greases
• Tests on chromium and nickel plating
• Environmental tests on finished items- axles, motors etc.

Our equipment operates 365 days a year but it is advisable to book time in the equipment to make sure your job goes in the day we receive it.

We also:

• Include photography before / after and at set stages in the exposure
• Carry out paint thickness or hatch tests
• Vibrate or cycle at the same time as the salt spray exposure
• Make large tent enclosure salt spray rigs for large items
