A damage assessment can tell you so many things, for example:
- What caused the problem
- The forces involved
- The consequences of the damage - will the product still function?
- The quality of the product
- How to prevent this happening again
- Design ideas to overcome the problem in future
- Was the problem caused by 'fair wear and tear?
- Whose fault was it?
Damage assessment isn't just for parts that have been misused of damaged
accidentally. Give us a new product and we will abuse it for you so you
won't get any nasty surprises when you start to sell it. We have even
bought cars and crashed them deliberately.
